FLASH ACCESS CONTROLLER
FEATURES
- 8-bit or 16-bit Flash interface
- Flash program interface through firmware-managed algorithms
- Flash access time support from 400ns
- The Flash Access Controller supports up to 2M of 8-bit or 1M of 16-bit external ROM or Flash.
The Flash Interface Controller controls access to external Flash chips. The Flash is accessible only to the CPU, through the Cache block. The primary execution is intended to be from Flash or dedicated on-chip SRAM.
SYSTEM OVERVIEW
The Flash Access Controller controls the interface to external Flash chips. The flash chips are used for primary code execution, with access speed enhanced through the use of a cache. Flash interface timings can be programmed by firmware as required by the external chips.
